Shin Ki-duk is inaugurated as the new president

On June 1, 2024, the Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) entered an exciting new chapter as Dr. Ki-deok Shin officially took office as our new President.
President Shin brings a wealth of expertise and a distinguished research background to KDS. After graduating from Seoul National University with a degree in International Economics, he earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
His impressive career includes key roles such as Research Fellow at the Daewoo Economic Research Institute, Senior Research Fellow at the Construction Economy Research Institute of Korea, Head of the CJ Group Management Research Institute, President of the Jeonbuk Development Institute, and Vice President of KDS. With such a rich professional journey, there is great anticipation for the innovation he will bring to our institution.
Sharing his heart for the future, President Shin introduced his vision for KDS as "Korea’s ODA Incubator."
He expressed his commitment to helping every member of the KDS family grow their expertise in the ODA field.
To support this, he plans to strengthen our Knowledge Management System (KMS), making it an effective tool for performance management and a bridge for smoother collaboration with global experts.
Looking ahead, KDS is set to embark on various initiatives to achieve three core goals.
