On November 21, 2023, the Korean government held the "2023 Development Cooperation Day Ceremony" as part of the Global Korea Forum.

The ceremony was a special occasion to present government awards to those who have made outstanding contributions to Official Development Assistance (ODA) and international cooperation.

We are incredibly proud to share that Dr. Seung-hun Chun, Chairman of the Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS), was awarded the Civil Merit Medal (Moran Order of Civil Merit).

This prestigious honor recognizes his dedicated efforts in shaping Korea’s ODA policies and providing expert government consultations to promote Korea’s ODA model globally. It also celebrates his role in establishing and advancing the ODA field through private consulting initiatives.

Development Cooperation Day is an annual event held to share ODA achievements and reaffirm Korea’s commitment to the international community.

It is celebrated every year on November 25 to commemorate the date Korea officially joined the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC).
